At IslaChic, we use high-quality materials ranging from our professionally manufactured 14K Gold Plated 925 Sterling Silver to 14k gold-filled components and freshwater pearls. To keep your jewelry looking brand new for years to come, we recommend following our "Last On, First Off" rule.

The Golden Rules

  • Keep it Dry: Your jewelry loves to stay dry. Remove your pieces before showering, swimming, or exercising. While our pieces are durable, keeping them away from moisture is the best way to prevent oxidation and preserve the integrity of the gold finish.
  • Last On, First Off: Apply all perfumes, lotions, and hairsprays before putting on your jewelry. Make it the final touch to your outfit and the first thing you remove at night.
  • Storage: When you aren't wearing your pieces, store them in the IslaChic box or pouch they arrived in. This prevents scratching and protects them from environmental elements.

Cleaning Your Jewelry

  • Polishing: For a quick refresh, use a soft polishing cloth to gently buff away any surface tarnish. Always polish gently to maintain the integrity of the finish.
  • Professional Care: For our 14k Gold Plated pieces (like the Lucia Charm Necklace), we recommend taking them to a professional jeweler if they ever require a deeper, specialized cleaning. Avoid using harsh chemicals or liquid jewelry cleaners at home.

Our Materials

To ensure longevity and beauty, we use two types of materials across our collections:

14K Gold Plated 925 Sterling Silver (The Lucia Charm Necklace) Our professionally manufactured Lucia Charm Necklace is crafted with a thick 3-micron layer of 14k gold over a 925 Sterling Silver and brass core. This "extra-thick" plating—known as demi-fine—ensures a premium, long-lasting finish that offers the true look, weight, and feel of solid gold.

Gold-Filled Many of our pieces feature gold-filled chains and components. Gold-filled jewelry has a thick layer of solid gold mechanically bonded to a base metal. This makes it exceptionally durable and resistant to tarnish, allowing it to last for years with proper care.

Natural Accents We use genuine freshwater pearls and high-quality gemstones. Because these are natural elements, each bead is unique—just like the person wearing it.
